Hot new work from the next generation of Perth theatremakers

NEXT brings three new works to life, back-to-back and bursting with humour, rage, and rebellion. A collaboration between generations of Murdoch University students, these short plays present a diverse and wild evening of entertainment for audiences.

Led by Scott McArdle and starring the latest batch of Murdoch’s performance students, this is theatre with its hand on the pulse.

📱 THE ROOM DOWNSTAIRS is a true crime podcast on stage. A psychological journey into the human mind, the violent actions of men, and the bravery of the average person. What would you do if a murderer slept on the other side of the wall to you?

🕯️ CHICKEN ROCK was the furthermost lighthouse from the Isle of Man until it mysteriously burned down in 1960. This is the story of its lighthouse keeper, his niece, and the thing in the attic. Originally developed through Barking Gecko Theatre Company & ATYP.

🐐 HAIL SATAN! is the best church you’ve never heard of. Come worship at the altar – bring rollerskates, cheese pizza, and your favourite playlist. Equal parts experiment, protest, and dance party – Hail Satan brings to life a new religion for the modern age, one where all are welcome and all can heal.
